Specializations: Connecting, Understanding, and Thriving

Individual Social Cognitive Therapy

I will focus on deeply teaching social cognitive concepts and practicing those concepts in related activities. I follow the Social Thinking ® methodology while bringing in other strategies and practices based on evidence and research.

Those include work of Maryellen Rooney Moreau using The Story Grammar Marker ®, MindWing’s cognitive-linguistic-social methodology.

Group Social Cognitive Therapy

Offered based on age, social level, and social needs provided other clients are good matches to the group and can learn together in a similar space.

Executive Functioning Therapy

This service is offered to clients who struggle with future thinking, planning, organizing tasks and materials, and time management. I teach practical strategies to help clients create and see their plans in their minds and future think to plan out tasks for academic or work purposes. I often use strategies from Sarah Ward and Kristen Jacobsen’s 360 Thinking Program ® including the Get Ready*Do*Done instructional approach.

School Observations

Observations are an important way to evaluate a student’s language, communication, and executive functioning skills in their natural environments. This will help to informally assess strengths and weaknesses and to sort out what is supporting or interfering with their learning.
